CONFUSION OVER COMPANY SUSPENDED BY MALTA GAMING AUTHORITY?
18th March, 2017 at 06:34:19
Are there two industry firms with exactly the same title?
The UK-based Random Games Ltd has vehemently denied that it is the company identified in the Malta Gaming Authority's notification of March 3 of its suspension of licensee C50145 (see previous report), which has a similar title.
readers may recall that the MGA notification advised that "Random Games Limited" has had its Class 1 on 4 remote gaming licence suspended and that the company is under investigation by the Authority (MGA) for unspecified reasons.
The company was ordered to indefinitely suspend all gaming operations, cease new player registrations, suspend all transactions on all websites (including deposits and withdrawals), and submit data and documentation requested by the Authority.
However, when contacted the UK-based online gambling games developer of that name responded with a denial that it is the company referred to. Director Matt Andrews said in an email:
"Random Games Limited is a private limited company based in the UK that is in no way associated with the company of the same name 'Random Games Limited' registered in Malta with the registration number C50145. We have never held a casino licence in this territory."
The UK company's website at www.randomgames.ltd currently also carries a denial.
The MGA licensee list for Class 1 on 4 licenses shows Random Games Limited, with its software listed as World Match.
The Malta Gaming Authority was approached for clarification four days ago, and a response is awaited.
