34% year-on-year improvement in November.

New Jersey's legal online gambling continued its winning way in November, delivering profits and tax revenues to government and operators and bolstering the languid land gambling side of the industry.

Figures released by the New Jersey Division for Gaming Enforcement Wednesday showed that the state's licensed online gambling operators achieved y-o-y revenue growth of 30% at $17.2 million in November, just short of the all-time record set in July.

The main contributor was the online casino vertical, which delivered revenues of $15.1 million - up 34% year-on-year, with online poker up 6.4% at $2.1 million.

The figures brought the year-to-date number to $178.3 million, a y-o-y increase of 32.3 percent.

The Borgata led the operator field in results, reporting GGR of $3.8 million, but the company only just pipped Golden Nugget, which in recent months has topped the list. Caesars Interactive was third on $3.36 million and Resorts sat at fourth on $3.2 million despite including Pokerstars in its results. Tropicana fell just short of $3 million in its revenues and was last.

The positive online month helped bolster a still-struggling land industry, where the seven Atlantic City land casinos that remain active reported total GGR of 180.1 million, down almost 6% year-on-year and bringing the total year-to-date brick-and-mortar casino GGR to 2.22 billion - down 1% compared to the same metric in November last year.

Adding in the $17.2 million from online gambling, total gaming win was down 3.5% year-on-year at $197.3 million in November 2016.
