Lawsuit filed against Euro Games Technology Ltd.
Online and land gambling equipment and games provider Novomatic
has announced a legal action against Euro Games Technology Ltd., which it claims has unfairly created imitations of its slot games.
The announcement reveals that Novomatic has filed a lawsuit with the Berlin District Court against Euro Game Technology, a company headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria, as well as its German sales partner D-Systems GmbH, headquartered in Hanover.
The litigation includes a request for an order that the further sale of the contested games be discontinued and that Novomatic be awarded compensation for damages as a result of the imitations.
"The lawsuit is based on the fact that in Novomatic's view, several games offered by Euro Game Technology Ltd. systematically and unfairly use essential elements (including the reel strips) of well-established Novomatic games.
"Specifically, the games in question are "Ultimate Hot", "Olympus Glory", "Flaming Hot", "5 Dazzling Hot", "Lucky Hot" and "Extremely Hot", the company statement notes.
"Similar legal actions are currently being prepared in other countries."
