The Malaysian justice system's first dedicated cyber court commenced operation in the Duta Court complex Thursday, specialising in hearing cyber criminal cases such as bank fraud, hacking, falsifying documents, defamation, spying, online gambling and cases related to pornography.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, said:
"Such courts are necessary to address the increasing number of criminal and civil cyber offences. The judges, prosecution and defence personnel are technologically-savvy to function as an e-court and to handle such cases."
