MACAU NUMBERS SLIP AGAIN
01st July, 2016 at 09:53:45
8.5% decline in revenue in June 2016.
The Macau regulators, always quick off the mark with their gambling statistics, have revealed that Macau revenues continued to decline year-on-year in June 2016, falling 8.5% to 15.9 billion patacas ($1.99 billion).
The decline was largely in line with analysts' predictions of a 5 to 12% drop...the 25th consecutive month in which declines have occurred following the Chinese central government crackdown on corruption and ostentatious spending, and a slowing Chinese economy.
Monthly revenues have shrunk by half in the last two years and hit lows unseen in over five years.
