CZECH GOVERNMENT TO TIGHTEN GAMBLING RESTRICTIONS
29th December, 2015 at 05:07:23
Prague's 200 gaming bars initially targeted.
Radio Prague reports that the Czech Finance Minister and ANO leader Andrej Babis has launched administrative proceedings to curtail the licenses of 200 gaming bars in Prague.
The report claims the government's intention is to tighten the rules governing gambling businesses in order to limit the number of gambling venues, which will in future be restricted.
The move has already attracted flak from the Gaming Industry Union, a trade association, which has warned that imposing such restrictions will result in operators switching to the online environment.
There was no mention of any changes to the regulations surrounding online gambling and in particular casino gambling which currently restricts licences to just two operators
