20th October, 2014 at 03:01:01
Newspaper claims past Malta connections with online gambling operations.
The Malta newspaper The Independent has picked up on US media interest in the continuing attempts by Maryland law enforcement officials to extradite high profile online gambling entrepreneur Calvin Ayre.
The newspaper carried an article
on Ayre's Bodog group connections in Malta over the weekend under a headline redolent with graphics of US official seals.
Last week US officials revealed that discussions with Ayre's lawyers on extradition have so far not been finalised, and that efforts to secure his extradition therefore remain ongoing, but could take some time to complete.
