Another tough month for New Jersey operators.

The latest performance statistics from the New Jersey land gambling regulator disappointingly show that revenues generated by Atlantic City operators declined 6.6% y-o-y to $264.2 million in July.

The numbers do not include $10.1 million generated by the state's legalised online gambling interests.

According to figures released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the state's regulated online poker rooms and casino sites generated total revenue of $10.07million during July.

That compares with a total of $9.5 million in June (see previous report).

Looked at on a year-to-date basis, land revenues are down on last year by 7.2% at $1.55 billion, excluding the $73.1 million generated by the state's online gambling operators.

With recent announcements that the Showboat, Revel and Trump Plaza casinos are to close their doors in the near future, the chance of meaningful improvements moving ahead appears remote.

In July only four of the Atlantic City casinos - Golden Nugget, Resorts, Harrahs and Tropicana reported positive numbers.
