Governor signs SB1282 into state law.
Horse racing fans in Arizona will be able to place bets over the telephone following the signature into state law of SB 1282 by Jan Brewer, the governor of Arizona, Monday.
Authored by Sen. Steve Pierce, the bill makes it legal in Arizona to bet via telephone and has been designed to help struggling race tracks that have seen popularity decline as Internet gambling and land casinos have become popular.
