MACAU FIRST QUARTER REVENUES UP 20 PERCENT
17th April, 2014 at 13:03:34
Revenues for the first three months of 2014 reach MOP 102.5b (US $12.8 billion)
Audited numbers from the Macau regulator show that in the first three months of 2014 the offshore gambling enclave generated revenues of MOP 102.5b (US $12.8 billion) - up 20% in comparison to the same period in 2013.
Figures released by Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau show baccarat was the big money earner for operators, contributing an impressive 91.5% of total revenues - a 12.5% bigger contribution than last year.
Slots players accounted for slightly less than 4% of total revenues at MOP 3.9 billion - a 9% greater contribution than last year.
Another stand-out genre was dice gaming, where Cussec (Sic Bo) generated MOP 2 billion...more than blackjack, roulette and even sports lottery betting.
