Whilst online sports betting flourished in France last year, other forms of online gambling did not fare so well, reports regulator ARJEL.
Overall online poker GGR fell 13% to Euro 258 million, with cash games bringing in wagering of Euro 5.5 billion (down 18% on 2012) and tournament punters betting Euro 1.4 billion (up 5% on 2012).
Online stakes in horse racing dipped 1% to Euro 1.1 billion, although revenues were up 0.4% to Euro 264 million as pay-out ratios trimmed to 78.2 percent.
Sports betting was the bright spot in the statistics, with wagering up an impressive 20% at Euro 848 million, and revenue similarly up 19% to Euro 164 million. Top wager generators were, in order, football, basketball and tennis.
