Last week was the busiest yet.

The New Jersey regulator has released the latest online gambling account creation stats for the new market, revealing that last week was the busiest yet with 22,256 new accounts opened at licensed operator sites.

That brings the total since the market opened in November to 148,487 and counting.

Industry observers attribute the surge last week to the inclement weather in New England and the holiday season.
