RATIONAL MAKES PEACE WITH GREEK ONLINE GAMBLING AUTHORITIES
22nd November, 2013 at 11:35:01
But that means that Greek Pokerstars and Full Tilt players will pay a daily withholding tax on winnings of 15 percent.
The Rational Group, parent of Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker, has reportedly made its peace with Greek enforcement authorities, agreeing to switch its Greek activities to dedicated Greek domain sites, and levy a withholding tax on players' winnings over Euro 100 of 15 percent.
Winnings above Euro 500 will likewise be the subject of daily withholding tax, but at a rate of 20 percent
In return, the Greeks have granted the Pokerstars.gr and Full Tilt Poker.gr websites interim online poker licensing through a Greek Rational partner, Malta-based Diamond Link Limited.
Greek players will not be restricted to a "Greece only" player pool, but some major tournaments may exclude Greek players.
