LADBROKES EXPECTED TO LAUNCH NEW BETTING EXCHANGE PRODUCT THIS WEEK
06th November, 2013 at 02:10:17
Company has brought forward planned launch date
Jim Mullen, the new head of Digital at online and land gambling group Ladbrokes
, is making his presence felt with reports from insiders indicating that he has brought forward, albeit initially in a lighter version, the launch of the company's new betting exchange product (see previous reports).
The reports indicate that the launch, originally scheduled for Q1 2014, is now likely this week as a desktop-only version that will be followed before year's end by mobile extensions.
The new product will operate as a separate client of Betdaq, the Irish betting exchange that Ladbrokes acquired in January this year for Euro 30 million (see previous report). In deference to the Ladbrokes Exchange, Betdaq is to discontinue its fixed odds betting product, but will have the advantage of the increased liquidity and product enhancement that the parent group can deliver.
