GAMBLING IN FLORIDA INTERNET CASINOS SHUT DOWN

New Florida law applied in Brookesville
Anti-internet cafe gambling laws urgently passed by the Florida state legislature following a major charity scam involving the genre earlier this year (see previous reports) have been applied to shut down three internet cafe operations in Brookesville, Hernando County this week.
Local Sheriff Al Nienhuis directed his detectives to close the venues, which he said investigations had shown were operating illegally in terms of the new laws.
No details of arrests or equipment confiscations were available when went to press Thursday.
