Nevada gambling continues to yo-yo

The latest (July 2013) numbers from the Nevada Gaming Control Board show that total gaming win slipped once again in Nevada, dropping 7.97% year-on-year to $925,729,767 and perpetuating the yo-yo like motion of increases and decreases that has characterised this year.

Over half of gaming revenues was generated by the Las Vegas Strip, where a decline of 14.4% was noted.

State coffers pulled in $61,177,073 during August 2013, based upon the taxable revenues generated in July 2013 - a 9.40% decrease compared to August 2012, when collections were $67,521,797.

Baccarat numbers - traditionally a profitable source due to high rollers - declined 37.5% to $118.8 million.

Slots was slightly down at $585.6 million; blackjack brought in $92.3 million, whilst roulette delivered $35.4 million; craps $28 million; three-card poker $12.2 million; pai gow poker $10.2 million; mini-baccarat $8.1 million; let it ride $3.1 million; and keno $2.1 million.
