Steve Wynn has not given up on internet gambling

Top US land gambling exec Steve Wynn of Wynn Resorts has not given up on his ambitions in the online gambling field, it appears.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that his Wynn Interactive division has become the latest applicant for a New Jersey online gambling licence in preparation for the state implementing online gambling on Novermber 26 this year.

But details on Wynn Interactive's plans for New Jersey remain a mystery at this point, the publication points out, noting that neither the company nor the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement is prepared to comment at this stage.

That air of mystery is augmented by the news that the regulator has agreed to keep the organisational structure of Wynn Interactive secret, along with the organogram of the parent company's structure and the positions and salaries of its executives.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that although he has historical ties to AC, Wynn does not currently have any operations active in the gambling enclave, and he has not announced any partnerships with online gambling companies.

The publication says that this suggests that he is searching for a local tie-in now that Wynn Interactive has filed for a New Jersey license.

Only two of AC's 12 land casinos have still to announce online partners - Revel Casino-Hotel and the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel.

After Black Friday in April 2011 Wynn pulled out of a putative online poker partnership in Nevada with Pokerstars, and more recently there was speculation - since denied - that Wynn and Zynga Poker might make good stablemates.
