Endurance International Group hosting facilities now back online

Online gambling marketing affiliates and thousands of other users were impacted by an extended server outage Friday on the HostGator, BlueHost and HostMonster companies which fall under the Endurance International Group in the United States.

According to reports on the Mashable.com site, foul play was not involved in the outage at the group's Provo, Utah, data centre.

The almost day-long outage began in the early hours of Friday morning, with the company keeping clients updated on an internet website and via Twitter as remedies were implemented.

Around 9pm EST, Ron LaSalvia COO at Endurance International - posted his final update on the situation, advising that the problems had been resolved and explaining:

"Our datacenter in Provo, Utah experienced an outage that impacted many of our Bluehost, HostGator, HostMonster and Just Host customers, causing intermittent connectivity to your sites and our internal support and phone systems throughout the day.

"The problem occurred during routine server maintenance when a hardware failure quickly cascaded throughout the network. Our customer service teams, technicians, and engineers responded immediately.

"Throughout the day we attempted to publicly communicate as openly and frequently as possible. I spoke with a number of you today and I am grateful for the patience and understanding you exhibited while we worked to get you back online. We learned a lot today about how to effectively communicate and keep you updated.

"As an operating standard and in an effort to drive continuous improvement, John Mone, our Chief Information Officer, and I review processes and procedures to ensure high levels of performance and resilience. While this incident is still under a full review, we have already put new processes in place to guard against this happening again in the future.

"I sincerely apologize for any outages and negative impact you may have experienced. For many of you, an online presence is the lifeblood of your business we take this responsibility seriously. We are committed to providing you with the high-quality, reliable service that you've come to expect and deserve."
