Concerned about the competitive threat, perhaps?

In an interview with the Australian publication Channel Nine Financial Review Sunday, pokie machine manufacturer Len Ainsworth said he is opposed to online gambling, despite it being seen by other industry execs as a major growth opportunity.

The founder and chairman of poker machine manufacturer Ainsworth Game Technology described the emergence of online gambling as "dangerous" in the interview.

"Online gaming is a train wreck waiting to happen and I think to have a situation where people can sit at home and gamble, I think it's a very dangerous situation", Ainsworth said.

Another Australian gambling entity, Aristocrat Pty currently has a strong online gambling presence with many of it's premium slot titles* now avalailable at several casinos featured in the AZOC online casino directory although these games are not currently available online to Australian punters [July 2013].

* A list of all current Aristocrat slot games available to play online is available in the Aristocrat section of the Slotjunkies.com website.
