NEW MEMBERS APPOINTED TO UK GAMBLING COMMISSION

National Lottery Commission members appointed
Two new members have been appointed to the UK Gambling Commission
by Britain 's Minister for Sport and Tourism Hugh Robertson.
Robert Foster and Mary Chapman, who already hold commissioner roles at the National Lottery Commission, will take on their new roles from April 1, 2013.
Foster was appointed as a National Lottery Commissioner in April 2005 and was Chairman of the Project Board. He was, until September 2004, Chief Executive of the Competition Commission and has also held a number of senior posts in Whitehall including responsibility for the Department for Business, Innovation and SkillsâEURâ„˘ innovation expenditure and science policy in the Cabinet Office.
Chapman was appointed to the National Lottery Commission in January 2008. She is the Chair of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the CommissionâEURâ„˘s Regulating with Excellence Reference Group. She is a non-executive director of the Royal Mint, Chairman of the Institute of Customer Service, a council member of the GirlsâEURâ„˘ Day School Trust, of Brunel University and the ArchbishopsâEURâ„˘ Council of the Church of England.
She was formerly Chief Executive of the Chartered Management Institute and the founding Chief Executive of Investors in People UK. Her earlier career was in marketing and general management with LâEURâ„˘OREAL UK Group companies.
As recently reported, the UK gambling laws are set for change in he next 18 months or so with "point of consumption" taxation rules entering the fray, a conecept likely to have an impact on a lot of the [online casinos featured on AZOC] with observers speculating on whether or not this will aslo prompt many to relocate back to the UK.
