Bill to ban internet gambling cafe's progresses
A Florida Senate Gaming Committee has unanimously passed a bill that would effectively ban Internet gambling cafe's in the State of Florida following last week's 57 arrests in connection with the Allied Veterans of the World and the subsequent resignation of the Florida Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll (see previous report). The bill is expected to be heard by a least one more committee before reaching the full Senate for a floor vote.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said earlier this week that it had established a hotline for information on the whereabouts of the final four of the fifty-seven people involved with the alleged gambling operation.
The four were named as Gary Wayne David (68), and Diane Mays Davis (65), both of Hogansville, Michael William Graham (41) of Little River and Cary Grant Hardee (64), formerly of Ponce Inlet and will be charged under RICO " racketeer influenced and corrupt organizations act " conspiracy; manufacture, sale or possession of slot machines; running a lottery; keeping gambling houses and money laundering.
