BWIN.PARTY AWARDED BELGIAN LICENCE
06th March, 2013 at 14:57:59
Legal localised site available to Belgian residents
Bwin.Party digital entertainment was awarded an A+ gaming licence by the Belgian Gaming Authority this week.
The award of the licence follows a long, acrimonious relationship with the gambling authority that included the company's inclusion on the regulator's blacklist, legal action in the Belgian court, a formal complaint laid with the European Commission, the detainment of its chief executive officer Norbert Teufelberger by Belgian authorities last year and further protracted discussions with the Belgian regulator (see previous reports).
On the regulatory provision that operators must partner with a terrestrial casino in Belgium, bwin.party announced an agreement with the Partouche Group owned Belcasinos Casino Kursaal Oostende NV enabling Belgian residents an alternative gambling destination on the bwin.be website.
