ATLANTIC CITY HAS A BETTER AUGUST
13th September, 2012 at 15:25:38
But the comparison is with last year's disastrous hurricane season
Thanks to more clement weather this August, troubled Atlantic City casinos managed to increase revenues by 12.6% last month...but the comparison could be misleading, bearing in mind that last August was beset with wild weather as Hurricane Irene lashed the coast, deterring gamblers and shutting down casinos for three days.
Atlantic City as a whole saw its 12 casinos bring in $226.1 million at slots last month, up 16.8% from a year ago, and $87.8 million at table games, up 3.3% from August 2011.
