SNAI REVENUES DOWN IN H1-2012
16th August, 2012 at 12:15:11
Italian market uncertainties bad for sports betting
SNAI, a major company in the Italian online gambling market, has posted mediocre H1-2012 numbers, reporting that revenues in the first half of 2012 declined almost 7.5% to Euro 284.8 million, and attributing the lacklustre performance to uncertainties in the Italian sports betting sector.
Racing bets were down a worrying 33 percent, impacted adversely by industrial disputes in Italy which went on for well over a month.
Online operations provided relief - a growing trend across mixed gambling companies like SNAI, providing revenues of Euro 449.3 million for the period.
The other bright spot was VLT action, which grew to Euro 431.4 million.
