GTech gets the inside track in a major market
GTech appears to successfully leveraging its 12 year business relationship with the Beijing Welfare Lottery Center to get the inside track on mobile lottery activity.
The company has launched what appears to be a trial program with BWLC retailers that will enable them to attract online wagers through a GTech Android app.
The companies will have to tread carefully, given the government's conservative view of gambling generally. The Ministry of Culture recently followed Japan's example in warning social gaming sites that it will be conducting inspections to ensure that the line between social gaming and gambling for real money is strictly maintained.
