ONLINE SPORTSBETTING ORGANISER PLEADS GUILTY
20th May, 2012 at 03:59:39
16 counts reduced to one
Joplin, Missouri resident Kenneth B. Lovett (72), who was arrested earlier this year on 16 counts of running illegal online gambling operations (see previous reports) has pleaded guilty to a single count to reduce his liability.
Appearing in the Springfield district court Friday, Lovett entered a plea of transmitting wagering information over the Internet. The plea agreement Lovett reached with federal prosecutors says he ran a gambling operation that primarily handled wagers placed on National Football League games between Jan. 1, 2003, and Feb. 8, 2011.
