Gambling transactions to be treated as cash withdrawals
British BarclayCard using punters will get less for their money as the company imposes new fees on gambling transactions reports ThisIsMoney.co.uk.
Currently, bets placed and lottery tickets purchased utilising BarclayCard are treated as straight forward purchases and attract no charges, however, in a move that is sure to irk gambling customers, the company will for the first time treat gambling transactions as cash withdrawals and charge a fee of 2.99% on the wager amount (or a minimum £ 2.99) effective May, 28, 2012.
