"Lucky Racing" game well received in Chinese market
Asia Gaming Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd (AGT), a joint venture between bookmaker Ladbrokes
and Hong-Kong based lottery services provider AGTech, have announced that its " Lucky Racing " virtual sports betting game has exceeded RMB100 million in total sales following the game's official launch on August 30 2011 (see previous report).
The platform and game were developed by AGT in association with interactive betting and gaming specialists OpenBet and sister company Inspired Gaming.
The "Lucky Racing Game", a fixed odds betting game featuring a computer generated car race (F1 style) with the same betting options as horse racing, has proved popular with players in the Chinese market.
Within the first month of launch in the Hunan province, sales now exceed all other lottery and wagering products in the region, said a company spokesperson.
The company expects huge potential in expanding the game nationwide in terms of retail betting shops and the newly approved media channels such as mobile, internet and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV).
John Sun, Chairman & CEO, AGTech, said, We are pleased that the launch of this new form of betting in China received nationwide TV news coverage and has sparked enormous interest in this form of fixed odds betting (simulated rapid racing). Sales and speed of deployment are well beyond expectation and we look forward to helping China Sports Lottery create and operate a significant new market segment in a market that is already consistent in natural growth of upwards of 25% year on year.
