BETFAIR AND RACING NSW IN NEW SPAT

Betfair's Aussie chief clashes with angry NSW Racing officials
It appears from reports in the Australian press that relationships between online betting exchange Betfair
and Racing New South Wales have declined, with the racing body taking umbrage at comments allegedly made by Betfair's Australian chief, Andrew Twaits, following litigation earlier this year.
Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'Landy told local media that his organisation's legal representatives have written to Twaits claiming that he had defamed it and that it required an apology and a retraction of comments he is alleged to have made regarding race field payment arrangements between Racing NSW, Tabcorp and members of the Tabcorp group. Twaits had not responded to the communications, he said.
V'Landy said that as a result his body would take action to "....stop him making wild accusations and to accept the Federal Court decision that has twice gone against Betfair."
The reports suggest that Twaits remains unrepentant, and has challenged Racing NSW to sue him.
"They can either sue me and have the facts tested under oath and cross-examination or publicly state which of my comments are wrong and why," Twaits is reported to have said.
