Three agents arrested by Bangalor authorities
Bangalore media reports that an online Matka operation was busted by Central Crime Branch law enforcement in Ejipura this week.
Based on an anonymous tip-off, law enforcement officials raided a house and arrested three men who are accused of running the operation, said to be headquartered in Mumbai. The three men are thought to be merely henchmen in a bigger operation and have been running the operation from the small house for some time. Investigations will continue.
Matka is a form of gambling that originated in Mumbai, India and is a system of gambling on numbers. Punters bet money on numbers and the winning number can receive up to eighty times the sum wagered.
A senior police official from Viveknagar police station commented "They are agents who entice people into online gambling".
